I have stuff to write for English and I can't think of anything to write. I feel like drawing but I'm not because I'm supposed to be writing.
Nothing is getting done.
THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING

Maybe if you draw until you get it out of your system? When one side of the brain draws a blank, sometimes it's a good idea to hand off to the other hemisphere for a while. You might even come up with an idea for your writing while you're doodling.

I scheduled a test for school at one in the afternoon. However, an anomaly must have occured in my head because I was completely convinced the test was at 3:00pm. I panicked when I was told of my mistake. I feel like a ninnyhammer for this. Now I scheduled the test for 1:00pm on Friday-I hope I rememberthis one.

Are you familiar with Florida drivers?

The morning rush hour is from 5:00 AM to noon. The evening rush hour is from noon to 8:00 PM. Friday's rush hour starts on Thursday morning.

The minimum acceptable speed on most freeways is 85 mph. On I-95 your speed is expected to match the highway number. Anything less is grounds to run you off the road while giving you the finger.

Forget the traffic rules you learned elsewhere. Florida has its own version of traffic rules. For example, cars/trucks with the loudest muffler go first at a four-way stop; the trucks with the biggest tires go second. However, SUV cell phone-talking moms ALWAYS have the right of way.

If you actually stop at a yellow light, you will be rear ended, cussed out, and possibly shot.

Never honk at anyone. Ever. Seriously. It's another offense that can get you shot.

Road construction is permanent and continuous in Florida . Detour barrels are moved around for your entertainment pleasure during the middle of the night to make the next day's driving a bit more exciting.

If someone actually has their turn signal on, wave them to the shoulder immediately to let them know it has been accidentally activated.

Merge means race like a madman and cut the person in line off or better yet ---run them off the road.

@Fnu_aw: Sometimes the drivers around my area do this as well. Running up people's A^^s, talking on their cell phones, having disregard for the speed limit and driving rules.

If people actually took the time to pay attention to their driver's education course, and stopped kvetching about how police officers treated them during traffic stops, maybe there would be less pile-ups and road rage accidents. Also, when parents teach their children, sometimes, they bend the rules to make them sound inferior to parental knowledge. Of course, this last statement goes on a case-by-case basis, some parents teach driving right, others do not.

I think I'm going to give up on 3D movies at the theater and not bother paying extra to see a movie in 3D any more UNLESS it's from James Cameron or he was consulted or his camera system was used. I've paid extra for too many movies where you don't even notice anything 3D for most of the movie. I most recently took my kids to see Journey 2: The Mysterious Island in 3D. Ok, I wasn't expecting much from this film to begin with, but there are many scenes in the movie that reminded me of Avatar, such as lush jungle scenes, and a chase where the characters are riding giant bees and being chased by a giant bee-eating bird (similar to the ikran/toruk chase). Both scenes, unlike Avatar's amazing sense of depth, looked completely flat. There are a few gimmicky "throw things at the audience" shots (which never work), and lots of wide panoramic vistas that, if done by JC, would have had incredible depth, but everything in the movie (along with the plot) falls flat. No more being suckered into 3D for me unless it's from JC. I can't wait to see Titanic in IMAX 3D.

I call it a "coincidence" movie. Oh what a coincidence that the grandson heard his grandfather's coded message and decoded it. What a coincidence that they find the Mysterious Island (that no one has EVER found) in 10 minutes. What a coincidence that they all wake up safe and sound on the beach of the island totally unharmed even thought their helicopter is in 1000's of tiny pieces all around them. What a coincidence that the island is sinking today, the day they happen to land on it. I think that anyone who is a fan of Jules Verne is going to hate this movie. It's full of inaccuracies too. On the island, everything big is small, and everything small is big. Elephants are the size of bulldogs, bees are the size of elephants, but for some reason the fireflies are still regular size.

It's nearly impossible to live up to the total theatre viewing satisfaction that was Avatar. I think I've really only enjoyed 3 or 4 films since Avatar. The bar is just too high now for most films to measure up. It's too bad that ticket prices aren't scaled according to audience satisfaction. I feel I wasted $55 taking the kids to Journey 2, although they did enjoy it.

But that's the problem though. Ticket prices are SO expensive (especially in 3D) that they need to provide movies (like Avatar) that are worth the money. Start charging $6 for a ticket again and then the studios can get away with releasing crappy movies.

There are a few exceptions.
Pixar animated movies of course. And Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part2 was the best conversion to 3D I have seen so far. But I agree that it is important to make a selection to what movies you expect to be worth seeing in 3D, not go see everything in 3D just because it is released in 3D.

I don't need 3D anyway. It's not THAT impressive or phantastic. I can get the same effect with the good old 2D too.

It's the movie that makes it, not the optic effects that might be added.
