Annoying: I really miss Windows XP. Windows 7 is missing a number of features I really liked. For one thing, I miss being able to customize folders. I can't change the display settings for specific folders anymore. They all change together. I hate this. Why the hell would they do that? Another annoyance is that the filmstrip view is gone. It was key to a number of things I did on a daily basis and now it's gone. Windows Live Photo Gallery is no substitute.

I can customize the folders just fine. The problem is that they all change together. If I change one folder it changes all folders. I can't have one folder display icons and another folder display medium images. I could have all folders display icons or all folders display medium images etc.

How? I want different folders to have different settings. I have folders full of pictures. I want the folders to display one way. I want the folder containing all those folders to display another way. I can't. All the folders change together.

Well I've downloaded a third party app that restores some of the look of XP, but it's still missing the ability to customize individual folders.
It's better than nothing though. At least it looks nice now.  |

I wish I could just get Windows XP Mode but it only runs on Windows 7 Pro, Windows 7 Enterprise, and Windows 7 Ultimate.

I'm especially upset because the only reason I got this computer in the first place was so I could do my college homework. There was nothing wrong with Windows XP. I don't know about everyone else, but I never had any lockups or BSOD or anything like that. Honestly when I'm done with these classes I might just plug the old computer back in. It was the most reliable machine I've ever used.

I'll be happy if they just put the filmstrip view back in. It was a great tool for scrolling through pictures quickly. How am I supposed to keep track of my Dilbert strips now?
