Star Wars
Light in the darkness ahead
12 years after the implementation of code 66 which formerly began the great Jedi purge, very few survivors of the order remain but an ever growing resistance against the evil empire is on the rise.
Amongst them are quite a few force adepts that desperately seek whoever survived the purge in the quest to become Jedi and defeat the evil empire as they join forces with pirates and smuglers to loot the Empire and fund the resistance.
Vader and his cronies in the meantime scour the galaxy in order to wipe out every last trace of the Jedi order...
______________________________________________________________________
___
Thousands of years ago the Ordo clan had sided with the Sith Exar Khun only to learn that the Sith could not be trusted, so they sided with the Jedi next time around and ever since.
This story was one that Gerak Knorr was painfully familiar with it, as he had seen his family destroyed by the increasingly powerful Sith Empire of Palpatine and Vader. He remembered back 12 years ago how he learned that his mother was killed at the Jedi temple at Coruscant by a fellow member of their order woh betrayed them to become a Sith lord, the Sith lord Darth Vader who once went by the name Anakin Skywalker.
By whatever name he went by, Gerak knew that he would not rest until he avanged the death of his parents and brought the emerging evil Empire to it's knees. He thought to himself as he piloted his trusty Corellian cargo freighter The Silver Raven to it's destination the planet Tattooine to deliver cargo for the Hutts in exchange of weapons for the resistance.
Little did he know he would encounter someone else there that would lead him closer to his goals than ever. His mother had thought him there are no such things as coincidences in the force and it was a belief he fervently held on...

ooc: okay, due to the length of this post, I'm going to split it in half.
IC: Pala r’utain smiled as she made the stone dance in the air. “You see? It’s a gift!” she said.
“Yes, child, a gift. I am impressed with how well you have practiced.” The elder said, “Anywhere else and you may have been chosen to train with the Jedi.”
Pala tilted her head, “What’s a Jedi?”
This was how a little girl first learned about the Jedi knights and the amazing feats which they performed. She would sit, wide eyed around the fire, listening to tales of the Jedi warriors and the unique gifts they had. Gifts that she too had.
“Do you think one can teach me?” Pala asked the elder one day.
The elder shook his head sadly, “The chances of you finding a master here are unlikely. But I know, young one, that one day you will find yourself a master. Train hard on your own in the meantime. Remember, the first Jedi’s had no masters to train them.”
Every time she was alone she practiced her gift, lifting rocks in the caves where she and her clan lived. She swore one day she would be a Jedi Knight. One day she was out in the open when a bright flash of light filled the sky…
Three years later…
Pala covered her face with her arms, shielding herself from the bright light. She was a young girl, sixteen years of age, an adult by Tli’lek standards. The slave traders had come to her home planet Ryloth many times before, had come to her clan many times. But only now was she afraid. She was finally old enough, finally ‘of age’ for the slave owners to buy her. She watched as the ship landed, then looked with wide eyes to her father. He had sold her brother three years before, there was no reason he would not sell her now. Her father looked at her, his eyes sad but knowing, “Go put on your outfit.” He ordered.
Tears sprang to Pala’s eyes as she turned to obey her father. She would not dishonor him in this the last hour she would be on her home planet. She walked into her family hut, kissed her mother on the cheek, and cried in her arms. Her father soon entered the hut, a man in a metal helmet and heavy leather clothes behind him.
“I told you to change!” Her father said, “Go, now, before we lose the sale.”
While her mother cried in the corner Pala went and changed into her tight leather pants with the red see through sash and a tight top that was cut low to expose her cleavage. Then she washed her face and cleaned her ‘lekku’ (head tails), adjusting her head piece. She walked back out and stood before her father and the slave trader. The man walked around her, examining her, running a hand over her pale blue-green skin, judging her body size.
“Is she educated?” The man asked.
“She can read and write, she taught herself.” Her father explained.
“Is she the rebellious sort?”
Pala glanced to her father, she was a bit of a rebel, but if her father admitted that he would never make the sale. Her father shook his head, “She is obedient.”
The trader stood back, shaking his head, “No, she is too small. You promised a young woman, not a girl.”
“She will grow quickly. She is of age.” Her father insisted.
“She barely has breasts. She is small. And there are scars on her feet.”
“She liked to climb the rocks when she was little.” Her father explained.
“I cannot sell a girl with that many scars.”
“Yes, but she has a beautiful face.” Her father said. “And she is the best dancer in the clan. Pala, show the man.”
Pala closed her eyes and danced to an imaginary rythem, displaying her lythe body and flexible movements. She was indeed the most graceful dancer, and being a Twi’lek she did have something pleasing to the eyes of the slave trader. Still, he shook his head, “No, no she is still too small. I may be able to use her in a few years, but not now.”
“But we need the money now.” Her father said. The family was fearfully in debt. Pala clenched her fists, small rocks on the floor rose up slightly, but she tried to control herself and the rocks fell again. She was angry. Not at her father, many Twi’lek sold off their own to remain financially stable or to ‘preserve the culture’. No, she was mad at the culture who would allow this tradition.
“Then only half the agreed amount. For lying to me about her age.” The man said.
Her father shook his head “No, we agreed on the price.”
“Well, since you refuse to sell her into the working class, it looks like I must withdraw.” The man said, turning to leave.
“No!” Her father leapt for the man, grabbing his arm.
There was a blast, Pala screamed in terror as her father fell. She covered her mouth and fell to her knees. The slave trader came over and grabbed her by the arm, “Now I don’t have to buy her. I can just take her.” He looked at Pala, “Get out of those clothes and into something more hard wearing.” He ordered.
Pala tried to keep from crying, it was hard with her mother crying in the background and the slave trader watching her as she changed. The man cuffed and shackled her and led her out of her hut. She looked back at her home, at her mother and her dying father, and swallowed, knowing she would soon be flown away to her new life as a slave Twi’lek.

The Silver Raven landed on Mos Eisley spaceport and Gerak disembarked to meet Jabba the Hutt and trade the cargo he had in his ship for weapons, at that moment another ship that had came all the way from Ryloth also landed.

Two years later…
Pala opened her eyes and looked around at the group of mechanic workers she was being shipped with. She looked at her hands, strong and tough with all the mechanics she had performed over the past years. She heard the ship landing and, in the distance, the sound of a busy market. She smiled on the inside, knowing that soon she would make her escape from slavery.
They were lead into the market and up to an auctioning square. Pala closed her eyes and began her work on her cuffs, using the strange ability she barely understood to pop the cuffs open. She looked out through the crowd to try and spot an easy escape once the cuffs were loose. The cuffs popped open Pala’s heart jumped as she realized she was free. She began to run. She heard the startled cries behind her, but she ignored them, trying to focus on her escape.
One of the traders there threw out a trip wire, Pala gracefully leapt over it, landing with a twirl and continuing on. She jumped up onto a rafter and sprung off, sailing through the air, diving into the crowd with a somersault. Unfortunately the crowd seemed to part around her. Pala stood up and turned, spotting the slave traders with the nooses and weighted nets.
The first man threw a noose, which tightened around her midsection. Pala looked around, looking for someone with a blade. She spotted an older man with what looked like a short dagger attached to his belt. She threw her hand out; the blade flew to her hand. Pala spun the blade in her hand, and then turned to slice the noose. She saw the net come flying at her and instead raised the blade up, slicing the net in half. The man pulled on the rope around her waist, but Pala was already slicing the tether.
The three slave traders were on her all at once. She leapt up and flipped through the air, landing safely as the three men crashed into each other. One man stumbled back slightly, then leapt out and grabbed Pala’s arm. Pala grabbed his arm, lifted her knee up in a small jump as she smashed it into his chin, then spun, pulling her arm out of his grip and twisting his arm behind his back. She kicked him in the rear and sent him sprawling. The other two came at her, Pala ducked down low to miss the first man’s fist. The second man, however, knew she would do this, and so kicked out, hitting Pala in her stomach.
Pala crumpled to the ground, both men were upon her, pinning her down. One pulled her hands behind her back and began trying to cuff her, while the other grabbed the blade she had dropped and sunk it in front of Pala’s face.
“Thought you got away, now didn’t ya?” he chuckled. He grabbed her by her ‘lekku, Pala screamed, this was the most painful place a person could grab a Twi’lek by. If he squeezed too hard there could be lasting brain damage…
She was paralyzed with fear, trembling where she lay, her eyes full of tears, her life was literally in this slave owners hands right now.

Right after examinining the weapons crates the Hutts had brough to him in exchange for his cargo Gerak felt a commotion in the force and was compelled to investigate the source, he found it shortly afterward a Twilek female screaming at the top of her lungs at her captors.
"What's the problem?" he asked.
"None of your concern move away" the slave trader demanded
Gerak took out a small pouch and tossed it the traders. "50,000 Imperial credits should about cover for her cost" he said.
"She is reserved for the Hutts move away" the slave trader demanded again menacingly, unflinched Gerak simply made a small gesture with his hand "You want to take the money is a good deal". The trader surprisingly repeated the same thing "I'm going to take the money is a good deal"
After the trader released the Twilek he offered his hand to her "Let's go before they change their minds"

"Fine you want to remain a slave be my guest, but those guys won;t be convinced that I actually bought you for a paltry 50,000 you are worth much more credits than that to them, gratitude this days" he said as he walked away leaving the Twilek to her faith as the slavers began to return "Hey you, you used some sort of Jedi mind trick on me didn't you?, I'm going to cut a whole new smile on you from ear to ear" the trader snarled wielding a knife.
"You really should think it over, besides she wants to remain a slave anyway" Gerak said as he took out a long double bladed sword.
"And you I'm going to pull those Lekus of yours until you are an obedient servant" the trader menaced the Twilek but first I'm going to carve this interloper a new face.
"Bad mistake" Gerak said as the Slave trader charged he quickly sidestteped him and the man stopped and and dropped dead with a gash that ran from the back of his neck to the pelvis. "Now can we go or would you rather wait for his friends" he asked the confused Twilek

"Nice doing business with you" Watto said as he flew away.
"Let's get out of this dump common" Gerak said as he headed back to Spaceport using the back allies to evade the traders.

The world hath known no greater love than this, to die for one's friends John 15:13
The only thing needed for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing - Edmund Burke.
Science fiction is an existential metaphor that allows us to tell stories about a human condition. Isaac Asimov once said: "Individual science fiction stories may seem as trivial as ever to the blinded critics and philosophers of today; but the core of science fiction, its essence, has become crucial to our salvation, if we are to be saved at all."

Pala paused as she looked at the ship, impressed and amazed at it. If she stepped foot onto that ship it would be her first time on a ship as a free woman. She stopped where she stood, "I- I... I'm a little unsure." she said, "About this whole thing." She admitted. "What do you want in return for all the trouble for helping me get away from those men?" she asked, slightly skeptical, slightly afraid, knowing if he demanded payment she could never pay him back the full ammount.

One of the slave owners had wisened up and gone to the left rather than the right. He stopped at a few outstanding markets, asking if any had seen the teal Twi'lek. He came to Watto's store, "Oy, Toydarian! Have you seen a blue-green Twi'lek slave girl and a man come by here?"

"As you may or may not be aware the Empire has all but wiped out the Jedi order, they are allegedly some that survived the purge though and I'm seeking them out as well as anybody with potential, if we are to take down this Sith Empire we will need to revive the Jedi order and only by finding a Jedi that can train us both it won't happen" Gerak said explaining himself as best as he could.
Meanwhile back at the market square:
Watto regarded the trader for a moment "Let me think, hmm no nothing comes to mind, sorry" he said.
The trader placed a pouch of over 40,000 Imperial credits on the table. "They went in direction of the Spaceport nice doing business with you"
OCC:
Got to give it to Watto he is consistent...

The slave tradertook off running, his gun at the ready. He neared the spaceport and began looking for the landing dock with his runaway slave.
He saw a flash of color and paused there she was. He pulled out his gun and took aim at the man.
Pala's eyes widened, she sensed something behind her. "Duck!" She yelled, jumping forward and knocking him to the ground just as the blast shot past where he would have been. "Are you okay?" she asked.
ooc: Probably my last post. We'll see.

Gerak simply nodded as he took out a small dagger from his ankle, the slave trader got closer "Get off him, wench" he said and as he did Gerak threw the dagger at him which struck the trader in the throat he collapesed gurgling and choking in his own blood, the slave trader was dead.
"I am now!" Gerak finally answered.
