This thread has been cleared by the mods Kievanie and Atokirina mi taw

For those of us that love a bit of scare/suspense and thrills in an Avatar jungle like environment no less need to look no further than the new TV show The river Tuesdays on ABC.

Some Pandoran like bioluminescent fireflies are prominently shown in the pilot.

The story follows what happened to an expedition to the deep Amazon Jungle looking for Famed Biologist Marcus Cole.

Check it out if you dare!

The River is a thrill ride! It is full of suspense and fear, and makes TV actually worth watching. Non-stop action and back to back noises and actions that will make you JUMP! Highly recommended for those who love horror and thriller movies.

Love this show! Definitely the scariest show on TV. Shows you how dangerous the Amazon can be! The jungle reminds you of Avatar, but here EVERYTHING is trying to kill you, including the natives. :P

Yep identical I'd say. Cameron based his film on what he has experienced both as diver on the oceans and jungles like the Amazon on land.

As for the natives they did let them live and even rescued one that was about to be buried alive after one of them proved they are "worthy" by proving they are capable of self sacrifice for one another.

Anyway awesome creepy show, can't wait to see what's next...

Once again, must say, wonderfully scripted and designed. Kudos to the brilliant producer of this show!

However, I did not get to see the most recent episode of the River. What's this about the natives rescuing someone who proved themselves worthy of self-sacrifice to one another? Was one of the protagonists killed in a fight or something?

No but he did offered himself to the natives in exchange of sparing the lives of the rest of the group and the moment he did they stopped their attack.

@PunkMaister: Thank you!

@Beaner: Basically, there is a group of people who are trying to find a scientist who was taping a show in the Amazon. However, they run into some strange happenings, including sounds coming from within an abandoned boat(which the scientist used for his show) and a forest with hanging dolls, for which there is a story. One of the group members is the son of the scientist, while another is the wife and mother of the son. There is also a missing cameraman who the bevy is also trying to find, whose daughter has joined the search. The area where they are searching is considered forbidden and cursed by the locals.

You can watch all 4 aired episodes of The River here on ABC.com if you live in the USA:

abc.go.com/watch/the-river/SH55126546

Otherwise check to see which of your local networks air the show and watch it from their web site.

The most recent episode of The River was not as scary as I hoped it to be, it had more suspense than startling events, which was fine by me (and probably other avid fans)Can't wait to see what happens next!
