I do miss Tank. But how often do we see any of the pets anyway?

Not a bad episode at all. It kinda felt like a throwback to season 1. There was no fanservice of note.

The writers did a good job making an uninteresting premise interesting. Rainbow Dash's unwillingness to admit liking the book complicated things nicely.

Also, Twilight's evident pride in owning the whole series was cute.

I was pretty worried about this episode, but it didn't turn out bad. I liked that they got her into the book by having her able to relate to Daring Do's situation. Still waiting for a Fluttershy episode, though.

The squee was adorable.

I learned not to doubt these writers a while ago.

I'm sure Fluttershy will get an episode sooner or later. The writers just felt like giving her a rest after she ended up dominating season 1. Seriously, she completely stole the show every time she appeared. They had to give everyone else a turn in the spotlight (except Scootaloo).

I was like, "Who the hell is barking?!" until it showed her. She was colored like Trixie, kinda disappointed that she wasn't.

I love that we finally got to see the inside of Rainbow Dash's house. It's surprisingly simple. I expected a bit more chaos.

This episode does raise some unfortunate implications about Ponyville society. The doctor shoos Rainbow Dash out the first minute he can.

It's important to note that the doctor's judgment proves to be 100% correct. Rainbow Dash is fine, and when she tries to bluff her way back in he sees right through it. He's clearly very competent.

Still, you'd think they could afford to wait long enough for Rainbow Dash to grab anything she might have had around her bed, but apparently they can't. It's not that they're understaffed. The hospital seems to have a full staff, including a surprisingly fierce-looking security guard.

The problem is that Rainbow Dash's place is filled the moment she's gone.

That hospital is apparently so busy that they can't afford to keep a patient any longer than necessary, even to be on the safe side. They need every bed available.

This calls into question all the various disasters Ponyville has faced over the course of this show, especially full-blown crises like Spike's rampage. Apparently not everyone gets out okay every time. Sometimes there are grievous injuries. I mean, just look what happened to this guy.

Not to mention, the hospital has an active psych ward. Fans have been joking since season 1 about how insanity seems to be a rampant problem in Ponyville. Maybe this was a nod to that. I wonder what the barking pony's story is. Maybe a case of cutie mark failure syndrome?

Someone really needs to do something about that cliff. Can't they put up a wall or something?

I guess they don't have much of a government. The mayor doesn't seem to have a whole lot of power, and Celestia really doesn't do much. She makes necessary appearances, but her real job is mainly to solve big problems and keep track of important macguffins.

Her freaking horn is the key to where she keeps the Elements.

Why the Elements needed to be locked in a place the mane 6 couldn't reach on their own is a mystery (since Celestia and Luna can no longer use them). Sure, Discord took them but he was technically honest about where he put them (why he didn't keep them is another mystery). I'm guessing there's something worse than Discord that Celestia was preparing for.

I was using my Fluttershy petting the thanator pic as a spray in TF2 Was funny when people would stop to look at it.

Last episode was pretty good.

I thought it was gonna suck but it was pretty descent, at least Rainbow Dash finally got one good episode this season.

There's been a lot of Dashabuse this season. I'm beginning to wonder if the writers have something against her. She's almost the series' buttmonkey by this point.

Probably because she's the most popular character

No, Fluttershy is still my favorite but Rainbow Dash seems to get the most attention from fans. Fluttershy has gotten more attention since her freak out at the Gala and her being turned in Flutterbitch by Discord, but I liked her before I saw those episodes. Rainbow Dash gets a lot of attention just "because she's cool".

Fluttershy was a fan favorite long before her freakout at the Gala.

After only six episodes she got an episode of her own. Let's be honest, Dragonshy was about Fluttershy.

Later she kinda got another episode. Green Isn't Your Color was really shared between her and Rarity, but Fluttershy got the most memorable moment.

Fans were waiting for Fluttershy to freak out before it happened. Everyone else had already gone crazy. Since she stole the spotlight for so much of season one, it was only fitting that they saved her freakout for the grand finale. And it was glorious.

I have no idea why Hasbro hasn't gotten in on this. Plushies wouldn't seem the slightest bit out of place in the line.
