Finally watched Tangled. I can say I liked it, but it's not a masterpiece. Just a simple fairytale. Romantic moments were sweet (I don't have to tell you who they reminded me about ). Songs were very nice.
I give it 4/6.

I just found the best defense of Transformers 3 I've yet seen. Beware, there are major spoilers.

Look, I really respect other's opinions and all but you're simply, on every single level, wrong.
I mean, you can dislike the movie and all, but All of your complaints are just plain wrong: No plot for the 'Bots? Did you missed the whole "Sentinel Prime is the traitor"-thing? Sam's job was there, but once in every two scenes the movie would cut back to The Autobots doing something, even one beautiful scene about Sentinel and Optimus discussing who should have the Matrix! How can you say there was no plot for the 'Bots, dude?
For example: In every scene you could see the mentor-apprentice relationship between Sentinel and Optimus being explored and explored more, on scenes before his betrayal [Sentinel and Optimus discussing about the Matrix], to scenes after his betrayal [Washington, Chicago].
Couldn't you hear Optimus' rageful voice on Washington? His sad and wounded voice on Chicago as he talks to his former mentor, the man who betrayed him? This movie explored Optimus like no other, literally every single scene added depth to Optimus, showing his human side.
Wasn't that your main complaint? that they aren't human? How can you say he's not human? This movie shows an Optimus like we've never seen: A confused Optimus, who doesn't know how to react or what to do at Sentinel's betrayal, we see our greatest hero's stoicism falling apart as he sees his mentor's true colors, that's one small thing called humanity.
There certainly WAS a plot thread for the Autobots you can argue whether was good or not, but certainly WAS.
Hell, even the Decepticons had their Character Development: Have you bothered to take a look at Megatron? He is not the evil overlord of all badassery anymore, he is a fallen man on his final days, paying for the mistakes of his past, he is tired and slowly dying, he lacks the strength and power he had on the previous movie: He is simply dying.
He is not that villain we used to say "DAMN YOU!", he is a man on his final days, you can't feel anything but sadness for him [effect of a small thing called "Character Development"], how he gazes as he sees Cybertron back: He finally saw his dream come true. the dream that lead him to such a violent civil war, you can feel genuinely happy for him as he sees Cybertron back.
That's another trait of humanity [IN. [b]*******[/b]. MEGATRON!] seen in the movie, you missed this one as well apparently.
Sentinel? He's not just a villain twirling his mustache, he is an anti-hero, he wants Cybertron back, but he doesn't want a tyrant [Megatron] commanding it, he wants the genuine good of Cybertron, his intentions are TRULY noble: He wants to stop the war and make Cybertron alive again, but on the pursue for his noble objectives, he corrupted himself, to the point he'll destroy anything on his path and ally himself with the Autobot's worst enemy [but everything with noble intentions in mind, and he won't ever forget those intentions]. He is a fallen hero.
May I ask you what's that? Humanity.
This movie is about how greatly the mighty can fall [aforementioned Megatron-Sentine-Optimus tragedy, even Sam became a man lost in life instead of the "typical teenage hero" we knew] and about the price of a war, to both sides [Megatron losing his sanity, the deaths of Ironhide WheeljaQ and the fall of Sentinel, and once again, even Sam is more of a forgotten hero long past his prime in desperate search for meaning for his life e.t.c].
The first movie is about heroism and sacrifice.
The second movie is about the weight of being a hero.
The third is about corruption and decline.
They all fit into a nice storyark to me.

I'm watching All Dogs Go to Heaven again in anticipation of the Blu-ray release. I'm noticing all kinds of little details that I used to miss.
In the first scene Charlie and Itchy argue about whether a pipe is red or green. It's funny because dogs are colorblind. But kids (and a sizable number of adults) think that means dogs see in black and white. They don't. This joke will fly right over the heads of most viewers.
Later on Charlie struggles to crush a can (he succeeds). Again, this will fly over the heads of kids. Today's aluminum cans are easy to crush. Tin cans are not.
I love how snappy the dialog is.
Charlie: "You know he's got somethin' up his sleeve".
Itchy: "Yeah, a gun".
Right now Charlie's telling the story of Robin Hood to Anne Marie. Robin Hood (the furry one) was one of the movies Don Bluth worked on but wasn't credited for (in hindsight his involvement is kinda obvious), leading to his departure from Disney.
edit: Charlie's reaction when Anne Marie starts praying is priceless. His eyes get especially huge when she adds "and God bless Charlie". Considering he's already rejected Heaven and therefore doomed himself to eternity Hell, this is hilarious.
edit: Charlie and Itchy never discuss their plan before stealing the couple's wallet. Charlie just announces a number. They are total pros.
edit: Charlie just referred to the poor puppies as "broker than the Ten Commandments". That's hilarious.
edit: Apparently I'm not the only one who thinks Charlie is simply not credible when teaching the puppies about sharing. They forget his advice immediately.
edit: The nightmare sequence. Holy crap.
edit: Big-lipped alligator moment. It doesn't make any more sense now than it did years ago. It's absolutely psychedelic. The only part than makes sense is that Charlie looks just as confused as I am right now.
edit:I'm noticing a lot of jumps where it's obvious that footage was cut. It's not as noticeable as it is in The Land Before Time, but definitely more noticeable than in An American Tail (there's really only one place in that movie where it's obvious).
And Charlie's dead again. I got major chills when it happened.
And now the ending. This movie is frequently accused of having a happy ending. It most certainly does not. Sure Charlie saves his soul and he goes to heaven, but the audible sigh he lets out before his final goodbye says he's still not thrilled about it. That's right, by the time the credits roll he still wants to live. Damn. Even Shakespeare's tragic heroes accept their fate by the end. Sure Charlie looks happy in the epilogue, but the first sequel immediately nixed that.
We're done here. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go watch some kitten videos or something before I start shedding man tears.

Just got back from the theater from seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2. I loved it. I watched Pt. 1 last night. So I succeeded in watching all 7 prior films in a weeks time before seeing the final one. I am definitely a fan of the Harry Potter series even though I have not read the books. I don't have enough patience for that.
